Peter made passing reference yesterday to his article getting deals on food that appeared in this week’s Pricewatch in the Irish Times; but I think it’s worth a post of its own. In it he visits a range of retailers – ‘euro’ shops, ethnic shops and market stalls – to see how their prices compare to those in the supermarkets. What are your favourite non-supermarket spots for picking up bargains? I live and work in Dublin 8 and there’s great value to be had from the stalls and shops of Meath Street and Thomas Street, particularly on things like cleaning products.
