If you’re anywhere near Miltown Malbay in west Clare, call in to Hanrahan’s Bakery Cafe, a tiny place on the main street.  I had a mug of lovely freshly brewed coffee and a delicious big custard tart for €3.80.  I went back next day and had coffee and a fruit scone, costing just €2.80.  They have a huge range of mouth-watering cakes and pastries.  It is Willie Clancy week, and the town is thronged; Hanrahan’s must have been tempted to put up their prices, but they didn’t.

From Orla:

Thought would let you know about a really good bistro/cafe called Cafe Bliss on Montague Lane.
Myself and my mates always go there during the week if we are meeting up. The staff are really friendly and Mon-thurs you can get an early bird of 2 courses for €10. The portions are well sized and you can stay there for ages without getting evils from the staff.
Its really small and cosy and would recommend to everyone. Just hope it doesn’t get too busy now and we can’t get a table!
