I’ve been a bit of a wreck lately. I’ve no idea why I’m confessing this all to the nation, but I’ve been home alone for the past few weeks and eating really unhealthily. I became addicted to Burdock’s, I ate a packet of biscuits for my dinner, and I once woke up with a chocolate bar in my mouth.
Unsurprisingly, my body revolted. It’s not used to being treated so poorly, so it reacted with mouth ulcers and a persistent pain in the side. I ignored them until last week when they started screaming REALLY LOUD. I resigned myself to imminent death.
Still not prepared to go to the doctor, I went to a health food shop and asked for some (temporary) advice. I came away with tea tree oil, which I gargled with some salt and warm water: bye bye mouth ulcer. I also picked up some Linwood’s milled flaxseed to improve digestion, and within a few days, I was noticeably better. I just stirred in a big spoonful to my yoghurt or soup, and sprinkled some over the dinner. It cost just over €7 for 425g. There’s €70 saved on a trip to the doctor, and now I’m back to healthy eating – mostly.
I’m now telling anyone who’ll listen – that’s you, poor readers – that tea tree oil and flaxseeds are miracle cures for all sorts of ailments. So, dear readers, what are your ailments and what natural remedies do you swear by?
