More competitions. We’ve a really interesting and innovative prize to give away this week. My neighbour Huub, a gardener with 35 years experience in organic fruit and vegetable growing, has set up a great new business: Garden Party. What he’s offering is a very affordable and imaginative way to to enjoy and learn about growing your own food in your own garden. It’s exactly the sort of creative business that can make a really positive impact in these gloomy times and it really deserves to thrive.
The Prize
Please note this prize is only valid for homes in Dublin, Wicklow, Kildare, Wexford, or Carlow.
Garden Party visits people in their own back gardens – the space can be tiny or large – and focuses on anything they need help with. This can include how to get started with some basic plants, pruning and weeding, trouble areas, spots being too wet or too dry, what to change and in what way, seasonal problems, or any issue that comes to mind.
It costs €200 for 4 hours of Huub’s time, but here’s how it becomes cheap: Huub invites you to bring your friends to share the cost, and they can bring their queries too. A maximum of 12 people is advised. Huub hopes it will become a small, community event where people can exchange and benefit from each other’s experience, with the aid of a dedicated and experienced gardener.
